JESUS, the King of kings and the Lord of lords came down to earth. He was God in heaven but came down to earth. Why? To call sinners. Yes, He came to call lost humanity back to divinity.
Every sinner, be they man or woman, boy or girl, is very precious to the Lord Jesus. He loves every sinner with infinite, incomparable, and unconditional love.
The sinner is so precious in His sight that He willingly gave up His own life in order to save the sinner from sin and its consequences.
No sinner can bear the load of his or her sins. The burden of sin on Man is unbearable and its consequences are unbearable, too, but Jesus bore them freely for every sinner – past, present and future! Don’t die with your sins. Someone, that is, JESUS CHRIST, wants to free you of them.
In Luke 5:32, Jesus says, “I came to call sinners to repentance.” That “call” took away His life and all! It was a call that took Him to a shameful death on the cross at Calvary.
It is important to note that, Jesus came to call sinners on His own free volition. Nobody forced Him. Love moved Him to come. Eternal compassion for lost souls could not keep Him back.
He knows you have a never dying soul. And that, you cannot save yourself but can only be saved only through Him.
Reasons Jesus Came To Call Sinners
Here are basically four reasons Jesus came to call sinners:
One, He came because of love. He loves sinners uniquely and in such a way that no other person can do. Even if there were only one sinner on earth, He would still have come to call him or her to repentance.
John 3:16 puts it this way: ” For God so loved the world.” You and I are the ones referred to as “the world.”
Two, He came to show sinners the way back to God, their Creator and Maker. That way is the way of repentance.
What is repentance? Simply put, it is to make a “U” turn from wrong way to a right one. You must repent of the sins you have committed. You must turn from unrighteousness and sin to God.
If you lie, fornicate, commit adultery, masturbate, smoke, fight, gamble, practise witchcraft or wizandry, cultism or Satanism, demonism and any other evil work of darkness, you must make a “U” turn to God.
“I tell you, nay, but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5). The way of repentance, genuine repentance, is the way to God.
Three, Jesus came to reveal that, despite the depth of sin you have gone into, your life can be changed, renewed or transformed to one that is glorious. You can repent!
The life of sin can become a thing of the past, if you believe.
In the Book of Isaiah 1:18, the Bible says, ” Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” So, come to Jesus NOW and not later, tomorrow or another time. He longs after your coming.
Do not refuse His call. Answering it is for your own good. It is a call to life, peace, comfort and joy.
it is a call, which if you answer, will bring you victory, righteousness, holiness and power. It is also a call to live eternally with God.
Four, all sinners will be turned to hell one day. Whether they like it or not according to Psalm 9:17. They will perish. They will be eternally lost and doomed in the lake of fire(Revelation 21:8).
Friend, hell fire is real, even more real than the physical earth of our existence.
