We all believe that ALL THINGS are possible with God. Yes, that is true. He is God; He is not a man. His nature is not the same as ours – sinful, frail, and limited!
Somebody said, “What God cannot do does not exist.” That is not true as you will soon see that, some things are impossible for God to do. Does that sound surprise to you? Please, read on.
Here, I present to you 10 things God cannot do.
Please, note that He cannot do them because they are not in His holy and perfect nature. I call these 10 things ‘THE IMPOSSIBILITIES OF GOD.’
Here are the impossibilities:
- It is impossible for God to lie. Titus.1: 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.”
God is the God of truth. He has never lied to any man or angel, and will never lie. His ‘yes’ is ‘yes’, and His ‘no’ is ‘no’. He means what He says and says what He means.
- It is impossible for God to fail. The word ‘fail’ means two things: one. It means to be unsuccessful. Two. It means to disappoint. God is the Owner of success, He cannot fail nor can He disappoint you, if you are a trusting child.
Why should He even disappoint you? He has everything you need. He owns everything.
Everything is at His beck and call.
So, He cannot fail you. The two meanings are revealed in the following two scriptures: Isa.42.4a “He shall not fail nor be discouraged.” and Deut.31.6c “He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
- It is impossible for God to change. He is ever the same in love, power, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, grace, standard, holiness, etc. He is the same from generation to generation.
What He condemns in the past, He still condemns in the present to the future. See it in Mal.3.6, “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
- It is impossible for God to tempt people with evil. See what the Bible says in Jas.1.13 “And remember, no one who wants to do wrong should ever say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else either. (NLT) Hearing a voice that tells you to divorce your spouse and marry another person cannot be God speaking to you as long as it contradicts God’s word. Any voice, dream, or vision that tells you to do something evil or sinful is from the devil.
God does not lead people into sin and cannot do that!
- It is impossible for God to forget your labor of love for Him.
Heb.6.10, says “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
Whatever you do to the people of God out of love for Him, goes on record for your blessing.
Are you a minister of God, laboring hard for the glory of God? Keep at it because God must reward you.
You can’t labor for God because of the love you have for Him and go unrewarded.
- It is impossible for God to behold iniquity. A holy God definitely will have nothing to do with iniquity or evil or sin. Hab.1.13, “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity.”
- It is impossible for God to lose a battle. He is Jehovah, the Man of war. He who makes people winners in life can’t be a loser Himself. He who makes people victorious will Himself be a victor. Ps.46.9, “He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.”
- It is impossible God to deny Himself. He is everlastingly true to Himself. 2Tim.2.13, “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
- It is impossible for God to punish the righteous with the wicked. He has never done it and will never do it. The righteous by right has done nothing punishable but the wicked through his wickedness deserves punishment Isa.26.20, “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.”
- It is impossible for God to remember the sins He has forgiven. Once He forgives, He forgets. He doesn’t remember the offense anymore. Heb.8.12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hallelujah!
