Walking With God Till The End

Text: Genesis 5: 21-24. “And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”

Memory Verse: Genesis 5: 24. “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”

God desires that His children world over to walk with Him. It gives Him pleasure. It is His perfect will for every child of His. Walking with God is a privilege, not a right because we have sinned against God and deserve nothing other than total banishment from His presence eternally. But through the unfailing grace of God, we heard the gospel and got saved. As saved children, God calls us to walk with Him.

1. What It Means To Walk With God

To walk with God means the following:

i. Total obedience to the word of God.

ii. Becoming intimate with God.

iii. Agreeing with God in everything.

iv. To hate what God hates and love what He loves.

v. To do God’s perfect will on earth as it is done in heaven.

Many are finding it difficult to walk with God. Some walked with God yesterday but are not walking with Him today. Some walked with God for just one week, one month, or one year. Do not be like them. Strive to walk with God. Your walk with God should be till the end either of your life or of the end of the world.

2. Why Some Are Finding It Difficult To Walk With God

Some are finding it difficult to walk because of the following:

i. Compromise with the world.

ii. Unwillingness to bear one’s cross because walking with God is painful to the flesh.

iii. Disobedience to God’s revealed will makes walking with God difficult.

iv. Fear of the unknown. To walk with God requires faith.

v. Forces of darkness. The devil and his forces will never support or help anyone that wants to walk with God to do so. He will try his worst to hinder such a person.

Walking with God requires grace. It cannot be done in the energy of the flesh. We must go to God daily to receive fresh grace from Him to be able to walk with Him. We must daily read the word of God, meditate on it and pray fervently to be able to walk with God to the end.

It is my prayer that you do not stop your walk with God halfway.

Walking with God attracts uncountable blessings from Him. You will enjoy divine protection, peace, good health, satisfaction, and many more.

Food For Thought: One who walks with God is more than the majority.
